Zane H's idea for River Foreshoreposted 4th January 2010, 5:30pm
"I’ve always seen the park bench as a good metaphor for good urban space. You sit on them, you fall in love on them, you eat your sandwiches on them, you get drunk on them, you carve your name and your girlfriend’s name on them…” (Andrew Shoben, director of UK collective Greyworld)
Urban Designers around the world argue that the park bench is a good metaphor for good urban spaces. Jan Gehl’s Public Space Public Life research revealed that Perth has increased its cafe chair seats by 74% since 1993. Improvements to our streetscapes since the initial report have been fundamental to the increasing number of people enjoying Perth’s streets.

Ceri P's idea for Howard Laneposted 9th July 2009, 12:06am
The beautiful Art Deco Lawson building at the bottom of the Lane. In a former incarnation I worked high up the Bankwest Tower and there is clearly a prime spot for a roof bar up there. Whether planning permission would ever be possible or the chance that the residents are closet party animals is probably slim. But would be great!
Annalise D's idea for Central Parkposted 25th May 2009, 4:00pm
How about making use of the QANTAS building. this could provide a brilliant substructure for contoured landforms to create an amphitheatre in Central Park.
Perfect for concert events, and with a large screen projection unit you could create an exciting place for people watching. The question is how important are the trees to the space, they either hinder development or provide structural design challenges due to the under-ground carpark!

Huevos De Manana
2 moro's eggs...
This concept will house art or design based works that are installed by established or up and coming artists/designers.
This unique viewing window will offer the passer by some thing out of the norm and surely attract their interest.
It will also be a platform for promotion of local artists and designers. A high rotation of installations will ensure on going interest.

Cool fairy lights make great indicators for cafes?
Michael S's idea for Barrack Square and Jettiesposted 24th February 2009, 8:15pm
Be great to get artists or students to design some seating to be installed in Barrack Square and alongside the pedestrian pathways - something a little more interesting than standard park benches.
