Lots of kids visit the cultural precinct.
Some large sculptures they can climb on like a giant dinosaur or spraying water feature would be good. Add some excitement to ths place

The water feature / pond does not work and it must cost a fortune to maintain. Instead, it could be turned into a cafe courtyard with a couple of cafe kiosks and garden with umbrellas etc for comfortable outside dining/studying. The place is sheltered from wind and still gets winter sun.
Loose furniture/ tables and chairs that can be moved and stacked at the end of the day. The kiosk can close up and move to one side so the space can return to an amphitheatre as required.

Could the Library have outdoor seating for their cafe and wifi? The lobby of the library is always crammed with students using the wifi and the cafe is busy during the day. Be great to have this activity out in the publi realm.

Be great if the Art Gallery gift shop addressed the public areas rather than being closed off. Would add a level of vibrancy and activity to this place.

Weekly bookfair or Market stalls.

Andrea B's idea for Northbridge Linkposted 12th March 2009, 5:31pm

Sink the rail line and put some affordable housing and public open space in this area. The public open space could be used as a market area on the weekend.

My Idea is to sink the whole shebang and then have big underground glass walls to watch the traffic go past while you access the sewerage and swamp monsters living under Perth.

On top you could build a huge toxic dump to put all the bogans who come to Northbridge. And anyone who watches crap TV, reads The Worst Australian and believes it, or thinks Triple J is alternative.

St.Geromes was great - we need more music events here.
